The short version: Your resume and personal data never leave your browser. We don't collect, store, or sell your information. Period.
ApplyPilot collects no personal data. All information you enter into the extension — your resume, API key, autofill profile, and application history — is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API. This data never leaves your device.
When you use ApplyPilot's AI features (resume tailoring, cover letter generation, match scoring), your resume text and the job posting content are sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you configured (OpenAI or Anthropic). ApplyPilot does not route this data through any intermediary server. The API key you provide is stored locally and used solely to authenticate these requests.
We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:
• Your name, email, phone number, or any personal information
• Your resume or work history
• Job postings you scan
• Cover letters generated
• Your browsing history or activity
• Your AI API keys
• Analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking data
The only third-party services ApplyPilot communicates with are the AI providers you explicitly configure:
• OpenAI (api.openai.com) — if you use an OpenAI API key
• Anthropic (api.anthropic.com) — if you use an Anthropic API key
These services have their own privacy policies. ApplyPilot makes no other network requests.
If you upgrade to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. ApplyPilot does not store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data handling.
All data is stored locally in Chrome's storage. You can delete all ApplyPilot data at any time by:
• Uninstalling the extension (removes all data automatically), or
• Going to Chrome Settings → Extensions → ApplyPilot → Clear data
ApplyPilot is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version here with an updated effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the extension.
